Le Chateau is located minutes from downtown Ridgefield CT. off of Rt 35 in South Salem, will be reopening in the fall of 2017. Sarah Schiller, Sales Director, announced recently that this historic site was purchased by Elegant Banquets LLC of Brookfield, owner of The Candlewood Inn (www.thecandlewoodinn.com) and The Fox Hill Inn (www.thefoxhillinn.com), both located in Brookfield, as well as other area wedding and event venues.
Sarah described how the property mission will change and expressed the excitement of bringing Le Chateau back to life. Le Chateau will retain its name, but shift focus entirely to catering weddings, fundraisers, and other private functions. Once a local restaurant offering more than 40 years of fine French dinning, Le Chateau closed its doors in February 2015. It is scheduled to reopen in the fall of 2017, exclusively to service private events. This property will be expanded and renovated, offering more than 5,000 square feet of ballroom, with a capacity of up to 265 people.
Le Chateau, originally named Savin Rock, began as a country retreat. This majestic property was designed by the architects Atterbury & Atterbury, and commissioned by J.P. Morgan in 1907 as a gift to the Rev. William S. Rainsford.
Le Chateau (www.lechateaubanquets.com) belongs to the Elegant Banquets family of facilities that have been hosting events since 1986.
