SPIF Senior Gold Card Program
The Ridgefield Senior Gold Card Program is another popular program sponsored by SPIF.  The Ridgefield Gold Card is free to Ridgefield residents 65 and older. Gold Card holders receive various free and discounted services from numerous town departments, organizations and businesses. It is Ridgefield’s way of thanking senior citizens for their many years of contributions to the Ridgefield community.  To get a Gold Card, you must present a Connecticut driver’s license or Connecticut identification, with a Ridgefield address, at the Ridgefield Town Hall information office. With the Gold Card you will get a “Benefits” booklet, which is a list of organizations and merchants who are participating in the program and what they are offering to Gold Card holders. Replacement Gold Cards are available for a $25 fee at the Town Hall info desk.  Contact the information desk for more information on signing up for the Gold Card. 203-431-2700.

Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association (RVNA) provides home and community healthcare services, as well as special programs that help seniors and their families.  Call 438-5555.

R.U.O.K., is a program sponsored and supported by the Ridgefield Women’s Club and the Ridgefield Firefighters’ Association, providing a free service of daily telephone calls especially to check on elderly safety. Call (203) 438-6777.

 

Transportation

F.I.S.H. (Friends In Service Here) provides fee transportation for medical and therapy appointments for seniors or disabled residents of Ridgefield. Call (203) 438-8044.

SPHERE / Town Bus Loop SPHERE, Inc. in cooperation with the Town of Ridgefield offers a free weekly bus route.  The schedule may be found on the Town website: http://www.ridgefieldct.org.
